Former Olympic 400metre runner and World Championship gold medallist Roger Black MBE is the after-dinner speaker at this year’s Glazing Summit Leaders Dinner.
The legendary athlete is one of the most thought provoking and entertaining motivational speakers around thanks to his knowledge of motivation and self-development.
Thanks to his achievements of being part of the gold medal winning 4×400 relay team at the 1991 World Championships and winning an Olympic 400 meters silver medal in 1996, Roger understands the dynamics of becoming a champion and how to perform under pressure.
In 14 years at the highest level he won 15 major championship medals, including European and Commonwealth gold medals, and is one of the country’s most successful athletes.
After his athletics career finished, he made the successful transition into television presenting, working on BBC Sport and co-presenting Tomorrow’s World and the BBC’s award-winning City Hospital.
The Leaders Dinner brings together around 250 senior leaders in the glass and glazing and takes place on the evening of the Glazing Summit.
Andrew Scott, the founder of the Glazing Summit and CEO of glazing industry specialists Insight Data and Purplex Marketing, commented:
“The Leaders Dinner is a great place for industry leaders to get together for some fine dining and networking.
“But we also want those in attendance to go away having listened to a wonderful after-dinner speaker and we are delighted to welcome Roger Black.
“By combining his experience of self-motivation and attainable personal development, both on and off the track, he has motivated organisations around the world.”
The Glazing Summit and VIP Leaders Dinner will be held on Thursday, September 12, at Edgbaston Stadium and Conference Centre, Birmingham.
Delegates are welcome to attend the Glazing Summit, the Leaders Dinner or both.
